MASJID & COMMUNITY CENTER
Ten years of war has claimed the lives of up to a million Syrians and forced millions from their homes. Internally displaced people (IDP’s) generally set up sprawling tent villages in allocated land.
Sadly, due to extreme poverty they are unable to build a masjid and community center, so they lack a gathering place for their religious and social needs.
COH, working alongside a humanitarian organization in Idlib, aims to raise funds for the building of a village for the displaced in Northern Syria close to the Turkish border. The village, equipped with all the necessary services, will provide shelter for 50 families. The village will include a two-story school and masjid / community center, and will serve hundreds of families in the locality.
