Ghana – Surface Well Custom Amount

18 percent of Ghanaians rely on surface water to meet their daily water needs, leaving them vulnerable to water-related illness and disease. In rural areas, people share water sources with animals. In spite of the progress that has been made to ensure that children and families have access to safe drinking water, data has shown that 76 percent of households are at risk of drinking water contaminated with faecal matter. Our wells are of two types; drilled boreholes and surface electrical wells. The community is responsibly for maintenance of boreholes and wells.
